I have been wanting to do a post like this for a long time…and now it’s DONE!! This post is meant to remind everyone in a humorous way that we should appreciate the basic yet important things in life – our 5 senses.
People are so busy worrying about their own “life problems” that they forget how amazing our bodies are and the things we can do because of it!
So today, I present to you all my first “designed” post of Human Explosion, focusing on the matter of appreciating our bodies and it’s abilities. Enjoy.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and have actually kissed the screen
I would also really appreciate it if you could help me spread the word of this post, I have worked long for it and I think this post deserves a little attention.
Anyways, thank you! Tweet, digg, stumble, whatever you are into
.
PS: what should I call this type of posts? (ex. I call my comics – comic lessons)

Oh dear, that was funny. Such a great reminder to use all our senses and be aware of what makes us happy. I have written about this myself but sadly without your lovely images for people to feast their eyes on.
Can only add:
Sight – Nature, birds, trees, flowers – sound like a right hippy don’t I:)
Hearing – The waves and the sea.
Keep up the fab writing and drawing. I am going to Stumble this one:)
Hey Annabel, thank you so much for the stumble!
I was going to add a lot more qualities, but then the space was limited, and I didn’t want to fill it up with so many words. I will take your ideas in the future
Thanks for the comment and support!
Hi Steven.
There is so much cool stuff here. You make it look easy too.
The grass in the first one is cool because it is created in a non-standard way that makes it like a video game look.
I certainly like the use of colors, and lighter shades of colors next to them.
Our senses are certainly a big deal. The day I lose them is the day I miss out on a whole chunk of input that I’ve gotten so used to. It is good to be one of those people that recognizes things before they are lost, as opposed to after they are lost(if they are lost at some point).
The headphones in #4 sure are huge.
What a pretty post.
Armen Shirvanian´s last blog ..Motivation Related To Production
Hey Armen!
lol trust, this was a troublesome post to do…especially when it was my first time doing it. But now I feel excited to do another one!
You are completely right on that one Armen, which is why I’ve created this post
I’ve felt that many people take advantage with what their bodies give them, and instead of cherishing them, they abuse them and use them for negative thoughts, which makes them end up in depression…
our bodies can do amazing things, and we should all realize how gifted and talented we are as organisms, simply because…we are human beings.
Steven
Awesome! I love it! This can be the first installment of your Things You Should Appreciate series. I love the mixture of truth with humor. I didn’t kiss the screen, but I also didn’t get shot, slapped, or kicked in the groin, so it’s all good.
Hey Lisis, thanks so much for coming here and giving me the support.
Haha, I guess nobody will kiss that poor person on the screen…he/she will feel lonely (I haven’t decided on the gender…oh well whatever works with the reader lol)
Anyways, thanks for coming
Steven
Mr. Hoot…or should i say Mr. Genius.
This is an awesome post!! Youre so freaking creative…:)
I love the colors…and i love HEARING&TOUCH the best, illustration and funny wise. But i couldnt get myself to kiss the screen…for fear of germs…aaahhhh…
As for what you should call this lesson hmm…
-comical colors of life
Ok..i will think for some more names..and let you know
But i love this post…and you have to do one illustration of this kind for my blog soon
Hey Zeenat!! lol thank you very much for the compliments!
I hope I can maintain my “genius” throughout the blog’s age.
comical colors of life seems like a good suggestion, I wonder what else you have
I look forward to very much to collab with you once more Zeenat! Zeenat + Hoot = power YYEEEAAA!!
Hey Steven!
This is such a cute post!! It was whimsical and creative at the same time and the drawings are amazing. From my sense of sight (involving my cones from my fovea to generate a hyperpolarizing receptor potential on my photoreceptors to reduce the inhibitory neurotransmitter on my bipolar cells so that a EPSP can be fired to release an excitatory neurotransmitter to my ganglion cells to fire an EPSP that is summated to an action potential to my optic nerve) I can see such a fun post!
(Sorry, I just studied physio and couldn’t help myself. =D)
I would recommend calling it a “Top 5″ List. (but then u would be constricted to having top 5 lists in the future..)
Anyways, THANK YOU for brightening up my day. =)
Hey Kali,
awesome comment, although I basically blanked out on what you said…:(…you make me feel bad about my biology courses…
Also thanks for the suggestion of the name, yeah I was thinking somewhere along the lines of that…but it is true of what you said…it might be a little constrictive as I have to write and design about 5 things all the time…WELL WHAT IF I WANT TO DO 6 HUH?!?!
lol wel glad you commented and read, thank you for coming here
Steven
Hey Steven, as usual I am literally amazed by your drawings and the way you deliver your message! I think you should make a book one day with these.
Oscar – freestyle mind´s last blog ..Is Learning to Program Worth Your Time?
Hey Oscar! Thank you for your compliment
As I’ve mentioned in my e-mail to you (in which you are probably going to get later
)…that I was thinking somewhere along the lines of making them into separate posters lol xD
But book sounds like a great idea too!
We’ll see how this blog goes. Thanks for the idea and input.
Steven
Hi Steven – those are great .. and really allow us to explore our imagination .. and remember other components of our senses .. poor “old” stick insect .. he’s got sight if not ears and can see all this pouring rain and cold wind! Thankfully we have senses to really experience everything .. brilliant.

Positive Letters Inspirational Stories
Hey Hilary!
You are right, we should be very grateful that we can experience the world the way we can now. with the 5 senses, anything can be amazingly experienced.
Steven
Hey Steven!
I love how you aren’t shy about drawing poop and a cow’s butt. It makes the message even more clear!
I’d kiss the screen, but I’m a freak about keeping my screen free of debris and fingerprints. Assume I threw you a virtual smooch, OK?
As an armchair graphic designer, I can tell this post took a lot of work – it’s beautiful. Bravo, Steven, bravo!

Lori´s last blog ..The Next Thirteen
Hey Lori,
hahaha, I’m NEVER shy about drawing poop and butts
Aww, now that person is going to be REALLY lonely on the screen…SOMEBODY BETTER KISS HIM/HER xD
Thank you for the compliment Lori
Steven
Steven! This was a fun post to read.
We really do take our senses for granted. I think if I could only have one sense to choose from it would be my sense of touch.
With touch I could tell if I was in pain, too hot/cold, and I’d still be able to communicate with people via braille. As well, I could still enjoy the creating process by working with textures.
Hey Eirien,
I see what you mean with that one Eirien. Sense of touch sure is very important. There are some people who are born without the ability to feel pain…as good as it sounds, it’s not…pain is our own bodies mechanism for warning us that we might get hurt…if there is no sense of touch or pain, we might be slowly dying and we won’t even know it…
For me, it would be…sense…sigh! I can’t live without seeing the things around me…plus I wouldn’t be able to draw stick-figures lol
Steven
Ha! I loved these — really nice work! I laughed at the eavesdropping on neighbors part. Right now I’m typing quietly at my desk while my neighbor upstairs hosts six of her loudest friends for Thanksgiving dinner. MY GOD, they know how to use their vocal chords to emit sound! Eesh!!
Earplugs for me!
I’m grateful for all of my senses, and especially my eyes are I scrolled down and saw your awesome drawings.
Be well!
Megan “JoyGirl!” Bord´s last blog ..In Favor of Friendlier Foods
Hey Megan,
I think you are the first person here to make the “kisser” feel nice. Right now he/she is suffering from low self-esteem because nobody would give the kisser a kiss…
But at least you were grateful to see him/her xD
Oh and also, just play really loud music and annoy them back
haha
Steven
Your comic about the senses was a very enjoyable/entertaining read. It was refreshing to see the 5 senses brought to life through your artistic hand, such that I get a little glimpse in to your imagination. Thanks, Armen for introducing me to this article and unique site.
Hey Nick, thank you very much for coming here. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the little glimpses of my imagination lol. I hope you stay for further glimpses.
And I give my thanks to Armen for introducing you here, hes awesome
Steven
Hey Steve,
I love this post. Keep it coming
