One of the major reasons why people fail to succeed is self-doubt. You may have a brilliant idea, but once you start to direct your focus on second guessing yourself, then all you are going to get is what you focused on – doubt.
If you want to do something, then do it. If you have an idea then use it. If you have a voice then speak it out.
Doubt exists because we are afraid of failures. But without failure, there is not a single chance of real success.
Have no doubt and embrace whatever comes to your way, because life is too precious to waste in doubts.
I SAY “GO FOR IT!”

Just in case you weren’t clear on the little plot in the comic (because my drawing is…pretty confusing here…):
- The first cave-man tells the second one how he discovered the use of fire.
- He then runs off to show everyone.
- Then the second cave-man is hesitant to do the same because he is doubting if HIS DISCOVERY is good enough.
- However, it turns out that his discovery is an invention of an electricity generator powered by solar panels attached to wheels.

Neat looking cavemen, Steven.
And great advice; You never know what you’ll invent till you try it. Take the chance!
Hey Eirien, exactly
Take all the chances in the world while you still can. That is the best thing about living!
Nice stuff Steve. There’s no question about it, self doubt is one of the most destructive human habits that keeps us from achieving our full potential.

Hey Srinivas, it certainly is! I personally experienced it’s deadly effect, and I got exactly what I expected – NOTHING. If you are living, why not live to find out?
Hi Steven:
Great message with this post. Yep, all of us at times are really slowed by our doubts. But, I agree that we’ve got to just go for it and live and speak with conviction. Thanks again for sharing this with us.

Hey Tim! We must take the risk in life and see what happens. Build sparks and dynamics with change and initiation, otherwise we’d never get anywhere. Thanks for the comment.
Steve, self-doubt destroys way too many hopes. Well that and a mix of laziness. But I agree with you completely on this one. Cool cavemen too!
Robby G´s last blog ..Reverse the Course of Action: Play on HER Emotions
Hey Robby, absolutely right on. I bet many people with absolutely brilliant ideas that could’ve revolutionized the world simply failed to do so because they doubted their ideas, or because (like you said) were too lazy.
Good comic and good lesson. Self doubt is actually one of the areas I could really improve upon. I am a very happy and positive person, but I think I sometimes underestimate my full potential. This partially stems from the fact that I dislike leaving my comfort zone, even though I fully realize that is the only real way to grow personally and professionally.
As I take another look at the comic, I have to ask. What is that contraption? Is it a real or something you pieced together?
Eric | Eden Journal´s last blog ..The Shoveler and his Golden Shovel
Hey Eric, stepping out of your comfort zone is the only way to expand it, and the only way to improve yourself is to expand your comfort zone. I do underestimate myself too, I often end up telling myself “no that idea is too stupid, unoriginal, people won’t like it, blah blah” But at the end, I just realize that nobody is telling me that I suck other than myself.
About the comic…that thing is supposed to be a electricity generator connected to a solar panel xD It has wheels so I assume it is portable too. I put that in because the first cave-man discovered fire which is the first source of energy to be put into use, however, the second cave-man was so advance he had already invented a technology that extracts solar power to produce electricity xD haha.
Second guy’s definitely got some good grammar.
I wanted it to make it sound dumber…but…he just talked too little.
Awesome as usual Steven. Loved teh last frame so much.

Self doubt is really the killer….it tends to creep up in all aspects of out lives if not kept in check.
The simplest way is to remember all your achievements…no matter how small they may be Everyday. That seems to work to remove self doubt
I love that solar panel..very happening
