Steven From 2009

The blog

I’ve learned a lot from starting this blog.

I’ve learned that there are a tremendous amount of good-hearted people who are no longer stuck behind the protections of their egos.

I’ve learned a lot about myself during the process as well.

The biggest lesson that I received is that I am…still very young. Compared to many people out there, I lack the experience as well as the knowledge on how to really live a happy life.

Sometimes it is hard being sedated by the delusions of the mind, sometimes it is absolutely blissful to be liberated from my stream of mental madness, but I’ve learned that the inconsistency of our mental states are nothing but the unfortunate evolved habits of the human mind.

I’m glad to have the abilities to analyze, interpret, worry and dwell. For without the chaos, there cannot be liberation from it, therefore there cannot be peace in comparison.

I’ve learned to appreciate and embrace the feelings of anger, sadness, anxiousness, joy and peace. I have never lived my life in complete bliss, and I never want to. I want to experience every edges of this world; I want to live through the emotions that our fascinating mind can provide for us.

I want to live a life filled with profound meanings.

I used to wish I could live like a mindless being, emotionally affected and driven only by his primary needs.

Now I’m glad to be human, I am glad for these chaotic movements within my life and my mind.

That is how much I can learn simply from blogging. You may think I am semi-serious on the topic of personal growth simply because of my ridiculous comics and stick-figures…you might be right.

But I can say that I am completely more dedicated and focused on personal growth than ever before. The comics and the stick-figures are what I call “releases”. They are holes within the personal development realm where you can escape and take a breath of fresh air.

You don’t have to complicate things and wonder how to think better or how to live better, you’d just have to sit back and enjoy what is drawn and what is already said.

I do them for one word only – simplicity.

The readers/bloggers

Aside from my blog, there are also many other bloggers that helped contribute to this blog. The readers and the fellow bloggers are what help this blog grow and gain momentum.

These are all wonderful people, each with a unique sense of mind and heart, and each of whom just wants to help.

  • This is beautiful. Life would be mundane if it just had an ‘easy mode’ or only one emotion with it.

So many emotions, so many ways to learn, live and love. :)

    Happy new year!

  • Hey Steven,

You don’t lack the knowledge to live a truly happy life. Experience means nothing. All you need to live a happy life is… You. You’re enough to be happy all the time. Embrace it.

It sounds too simple, but that’s how it really is, my friend. Now be happy!

And thanks for linking out to me, man. It means a lot to me that you find me a great personality.

I’m excited to see what you come up with in 2010 :)

    See you next year, Steven!!

  • Hi Steven – congratulations on working out your who, what, why .. if you can do that when your young, as now .. you’ll definitely learn how far you can go.

You’ve got a great personality and lots of talent – so keep going, use your intuition – seems to have been good so far ..

  • Hi Steven,
I’m moved that you’d include me at your post today. I think that you’re a gifted person with humility, grace, and and inquisitive nature. You’re already ahead of the game, in my opinion.

You mentioned, “Compared to many people out there, I lack the experience as well as the knowledge on how to really live a happy life.”

And I would disagree – I really don’t think it takes years and years of experience and knowledge to be happy. Look at small children – they’re happy often, yes?

Let go of expectations, let go of trying to impress people, and do what makes you happy (while helping others). To me, anyway, this is a recipe for happiness. You’re there!

Profound thanks for adding happiness to my life in 2009 – I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • Hey Steven –

I also agree that you don’t need experience to determine how to live a happy life. You have already set the guidelines with what you’ve outlined in your post above.

“I want to experience every edge of this world; I want to live through the emotions that our fascinating mind can provide for us.”

There is no special bank of knowledge that you will come upon at some certain age that will show you the path towards happiness. You need to start today, by examining every decision and making sure that you are following your heart at all times.

You have a great blog here and it’s clear that you are passionate about finding your own unique path in the world.

    Steven,
I am quite blissful towards the chance of having discovered your blog piece. Your contributions to the world of digital equations has granted a profound piece of wisdom into my life and I’m sure the lives of many others. Everything which you expressed in this piece makes me feel like you reached into my mind and stole the words from within. Sounds a bit lame-o, but since I began discovering the many worldly expressions here in cyberspace, I have realized that here are so many minds which are in the process of transmission, from feeling trapped in their minds, o realizing many others are on the same planet as they, only it wasn’t recognizable, for we all just blended into the landscape equally.
Well, that’s my rant for today. I am quite excited for you and all of your blogger friends, that they will continue to express and relate to the rest of us, hopefully to further inspire a growing class of future bloggers. In which, more people can see first hand what you have experiences, and grow into the landscape equally with others, and begin to exploit creation for what has yet to be discovered! Live on and be well in 2010 my friend, and I look forward to your pieces, and I look forward to begin blogging myself, in light of further liberation. Live on, and live well! FREEDOM!!! -LostinTranslation-

  • Steven… You’re certainly on the right track. I wish I was where you are at your age. However, thank god it’s never to late to start over.

There really are good people in the world as I’ve had the pleasure to interact with through blogging. I look forward to 2010 and building some crazy good relationships.

My 2010 holds a new blog I will be introducing. I’m posting on it currently on my forty2fifty blog. I’m covering the process and progress of launching the blog and I’m very excited to get it up and going.

    Hi Steven:

I echo what a lot of your commenters have said…you’re a pretty smart guy with more knowledge than you think you have. If there is one thing I have learned from bloggers this year…it is that I am very impressed with a lot of young people out there. Even though I may be older, I continue to learn and evolve. I have enjoyed reading your blog this year and seeing your stick figure drawings…best wishes on a great 2010!

  • Hey Steven.

I like this reflection. We sure do learn a lot about ourselves here. It is sort of odd when we think about folks who haven’t done the same, as we can see a bit of what they have missed. I appreciate your support there.

You really brought it with the content and imagery here lately. It is hard to forget what you have created. I just went to the top of the page and saw that holiday design stuff too. That is what I’m talking about.

    The little things matter.

How did I miss this post?? Either way, I agree with Brett: You don’t lack the knowledge to live a truly happy life. Experience means nothing. All you need to live a happy life is… You. You’re enough to be happy all the time. Embrace it.

Love yourself. Be the best at what you are: yourself. Do your best. Be kind to others. That’s all there is to it.
